GHRP-2

Subcutaneous injection, Intravenous

Overview

A synthetic hexapeptide growth hormone secretagogue that acts on the ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) in the hypothalamus and pituitary to stimulate growth hormone release. GHRP-2 is one of the most potent GH-releasing peptides, producing robust GH pulses while also increasing ACTH, cortisol, and prolactin to a modest degree.

Mechanism of Action

It amplifies the natural GH axis and works synergistically with GHRH analogs..

Research Summary & Key Findings

Clinical studies demonstrated dose-dependent GH release with peak levels at 15-30 minutes post-administration. More potent than GHRP-6 with less appetite stimulation. Used clinically in Japan for GH stimulation testing. Research shows sustained IGF-1 elevation and improved body composition parameters.

Clinical Status

Investigational

GHRP-2 is in the investigational stage. While preclinical and early-phase data exist, it has not received regulatory approval for clinical use in the United States.
